TO066: Excursion and Special Train Arrangements, August Bank Holiday 1954.
NEW DECEMBER 2022. This gives a full and fascinating picture of our railway during its summer hey-day. Prior to 1965, the August Bank Holiday was the first Monday in the month. Here we have a 228-page special notice relating to the GE Section of the Eastern Region, detailing the extra trains to be run, their empty stock workings and the alterations in the normal timetables. It covers the period from Thursday 29 July 1954 through to Sunday 8 August 1954.
We must thank our member Brain Hornsey for providing these scans. He sells very good hard-copies of a wide selection of steam-era working timetables which you may find of interest. His website is to be found at http://wttreprints.uk/ which you can visit HERE.
