TW053 General Appendix to the BR Working Timetables 1972
NEW APRIL 2016. Dated 1 October 1972, its full title is the General Appendix to Working Timetables and Books of Rules and Regulations (and is effectively the practical application of the railway's rules to its everyday workings). The document number is B.R. 29944. A few later amendments have been pasted in. There are 144 pages, displayed as two-page spreads.
Topics covered include the working of trains, points and signals, stations and platforms. Procedures are described relating to events such as accidents, fires and snow. Conventional symbols on railway maps (e.g. for buffer stops, catch points and turntables) are given.
