TW054 GE Sectional Appendix to the BR Working Timetables 1964
NEW MAY 2016. Dated 1 April 1964, its full title is the Great Eastern Sectional Appendix to Working Timetables and Books of Rules and Regulations. The document number is B.R.30015/1. A GE Sectional Appendix applies the general rules and regulations to specific locations all over the GE area.
It lists each of the running lines with details of signal boxes and speed restrictions. The local codes for engine whistles at various places are given, for example, and so are the rules for the lineside mail bag apparatus sited at Manningtree, Colchester, Witham and Chelmsford. Detailed breakdown arrangements ae listed. Operational instructions are described, such as which DMU services are permitted to haul tail traffic, and who to send faullty lamps to for repair. The section on Local Instructions lists local working bye-laws line by line.
