NEW MARCH 2017. Quy (sometimes called Stow-cum-Quy) was a station on the Mildenhall branch.

This file starts with the plan of Quy produced by the GER in Septrember 1907 as their map No. 29538, initially drawn to a scale of 1 chain (22 yards) to an inch. It shows the trackwork and buildings, and indicates the limits of the GER property. It is suitable for viewing on screen, but the resolution is not sufficient to print it out full size - you could of course print it out at A4 on a 'fit to printable area' setting: this works, though the detail will be rather small.

The next three pages of the file comprise photographs Nos. 25017, 25019 and 25020 from our photograph collection which is available separately. The pictures are undated, but are from the late 1950s or early 1960s when the passing loop had been removed.

The final three pages are dated 1922 and contain instructions from the GER Commercial Department and a map all relating to Francis' Siding. This was a private siding with dock and roadway belonging to the Francis family of Quy Hall. It was located about 500 yards from Quy in the direction of Bottisham, and was the responsibility of the stationmaster at Quy.  Also inserted here is an extract from the minutes of the GER Traffic Committee of 15 April 1890, giving their terms for the building of this siding.
