NEW JULY 2018.  This 26-page booklet was issued by British Railways in January 1956 under their reference BR.20429. Its title was 'Instructions to Staff Using Mechanical Appliances'.  The appliances considered include mechanically-propelled trucks and trolleys, cranes of all sorts, goods lifts, fork-lift trucks, shunting tractors, capstans, traversers, turntables and wagon hoists.
