PL003 The B17s and the B2s
NEW APRIL 2017. This deals with the B17s and B2s built by the LNER - the Sandringhams and the Footballers. The file has 19 pages each containing a photo from our catalogue plus a brief caption to it. The photograph is intended to be viewed so it is as large as possible on your screen, and it should look very effective like that. There are also two pictures taken from the LNER Magazine, one shown full-page and the other smaller.
There are a further five pages of text. These cover the early history of the B17s; the B17s and the football clubs; their later devlopment into B17/6s; the rebuilding of ten of the engines into a new class B2; and some personal recollections of the locomotives. You will learn, for example, why Newcastle United F.C. had an engine (No. 2858) for only a month in 1936, and how that is connected with the photo of 61647 Helmingham Hall in the 1950s which shows it apparently with the wrong tender.
The file will be available to download as soon as payment has been made. You go to your account and click on ‘Downloads’. New customers create an account as they place their order.
