NEW MARCH 2024. This is a 48-page card-covered book produced by the LNER in May 1929 with the title 'How the LNER carries exceptional freight loads'. Its stated purpose was "to assist Traders in selecting and requisitioning the most suitable vehicles for the conveyance of articles of unusual dimensions or weight."
It describes thirteen different wagons. The list of them is HERE. For each one there is a short description and a photograph plus dimensioned sketches.
This copy of the booklet is possessed by the Brewster Centre @ the Colne Valley Railway, and our thanks go to them for willingly agreeing we might offer it in our Files Emporium, and to our member Nick Ellis who made it possible.
