For enthusiasts, researchers and modellers of the Great Eastern Railway

RC065: The transport of animals by rail, BR 1954.

NEW MARCH 2024.  This is a 32-page card-covered book produced by British Railways in 1954 for the guidance of their staff who were involved in the carriage of livestock. It is illustrated with drawings, and the front cover was drawn by Fougasse who was a well-known illustrator of the time with a unique style.

The instructions are very practical, such as helping an unfortubnate employee who finds he has to milk a cow! The index can be viewed HERE.

This copy of the booklet is in the possession of the Brewster Centre @ the Colne Valley Railway, and our thanks go to them for willingly agreeing we might offer it in our Files Emporium, and to our member Nick Ellis who made it possible.

The file is searchable and has bookmarks to each of ts chapters. It will be ready to download as soon as payment has been made. You go to your account and click on ‘Downloads’. New customers create an account as they place their order.?
