SG071 Commercial Brochure on the Resignalling of Liverpool Street 1949.
NEW JANUARY 2023. Our file SG012 provides the official British Railways notice concerning the installation of new colour light signalling from Liverpool Street to Bethnal Green in 1949. The brochure here covers that same installation, but was produced by the company who installed it - the Siemens and General Electric Railway Signal Co Ltd.
Its 27 pages describe the scheme and its equipment, illustrated with seventeen photographs. As well as the actual signals, topics covered include relay interlocking, control panels, the relay rooms themselves and the power used for the system. At the back is a fold-out map showing the full layout from Liverpool Street to just beyond Bethnal Green Junction.
We must thank our member Brain Hornsey for providing these scans. He sells very good hard-copies of a wide selection of steam-era working timetables which you may find of interest. His website is to be found at http://wttreprints.uk/ which you can visit HERE.
The file is fully bookmarked, and will be available to download as soon as payment has been made. You go to your account and click on ‘Downloads’. New customers create an account as they place their order.
