RE036 MoT Requirements for New Works 1950

  • RE036 MoT Requirements for New Works 1950

NEW FEBRUARY 2016.  When a railway completed any new works during the 1950s, it had to submit them to the Ministry of Transport to inspect and approve. The MoT issued a set of guidelines for the purpose, laying down requirements which were mandatory for passenger lines and recommended for goods-only lines.

This edition is dated 1950. Topics covered include documents to be supplied, signalling, stations, gradients, turntables, bridges, permanent way, level crossings, electric railways, continuous brakes, light railways and more. Drawings give details of required clearances.
