TW041 BR(E) Timetable Compendium 1952
NEW DEC 2011. September 1952. Something rather different - an official publication to provide guidance to those whose job it was to compile working timetables for the GE area. As well as complete sets of point-to-point timings (non-stop, or with a stop at one or both ends), its 152 pages contain a lot of additional data - the capacity of passenger and goods loops, for example; platform capacities and run-round loops; signalling arrangements; coal, water and turntable facilities; route availiability of locomotive classes; speed of light engines; enginemen's walking times; the time to allow between a loco leaving its shed and when its train was due to depart; and more. Very informative.
