B17 61648 'Arsenal' was created by Colin Dowling (Eastsidepilot)
61648 was scratch built from nickel-silver and brass some years ago now. The components, sheet metal and motion parts, where cut on my profile miller from patterns produced from G.A drawings and other sources. Boiler fittings were turned on the lathe whilst the wheels are bought in castings also processed on the lathe.
Built to S7 standards with split axle current collection the loco is powered by a Mashima motor and an ABC gearbox, and has recently returned to the work bench to have DCC sound chip fitted.
Finally the model was painted and weathered to depict her in the last days of BR ownership.
