Drawing Options

Apart from the drawings showing loco and tender details, nearly every one is available for printing at a choice of A4 size, 7mm scale or 4mm scale.

The A4 sized files are probably the best ones to use for general browsing, since they show the whole drawing full size. You can print the drawing out so it fills an A4 page (at a scale somewhere between 4mm and 7mm), in which case it would be best to have the Page Scaling box set to ‘Fit to Printable Area’. Their resolution is such that, if you have the facility, it should be possible to expand the image to print it out at A3 like the original paper versions of the drawings.

A4

At 7 mm scale most of the original drawings are just too large to fit on to a sheet of A4 paper, in which case it has been necessary to supply them as two overlapping halves. (… and to print them out to scale, go to File / Print and then ensure the Page Scaling box is set to ‘none’.)

7mm left7mm right

The 4mm version fits comfortably on an A4 page leaving a wide border. (… and to print it out to scale, go to File / Print and then ensure the Page Scaling box is set to ‘none’.)
