NEW OCTOBER 2017.  The East Anglian Railway was one of the constituent companies which formed the GER.  It had built the line from Kings Lynn to Ely with its branch from Watlington to Wisbech, and the line from Lynn through Swaffham to Dereham.  It also had an involvement in the line from Ely to Huntingdon via St Ives.

In 1909 the Railway Magazine published a two-part article on the East Anglian Railway written by H H Meik, and that is what this file provides. The first part contains a map; it deals with the history of the company, and describes one of its principal engineering features - the bridge over the Ouse near Hilgay.  The second part looks at its locomotives and their workings.  The up and down timetables between London, Ely, Wisbech, Lynn and Dereham for March 1866 are given.

The file will be available to download as soon as payment has been made. You go to your account and click on ‘Downloads’. New customers create an account as they place their order.
