TP016 LNER Emergency Country Area Timetable 1939
IMPROVED PRESENTATION MAY 2022. When World War Two began, the railways had to prioritise war traffic over passenger services for the general public. This file contains 40 pages of extracts for the GE and the M&GN Sections from the LNER emergency public timetable dated 2 October 1939. The suburban area was covered by a separate book: those tables are offered as File TP015.
These scans had to be made from early photocopies of a somewhat dubious standard. Nevertheless they are generally very readable. Other than perhaps some parts of two of the pages all the information remains fully accessible.
