NEW JANUARY 2013. This second part covers Horace Melbourne's reminiscences as he worked in the LNER Southern Area, organising motor cartage of goods and parcels. He describes the arrangements in many parts of the north of this area. He covers the LNER operations in and around Leeds, Sheffield, Liverpool, Manchester, Lincolnshire and Nottingham.
The account has been taken from a handwritten exercise book with a few larger pages tucked in, which one of our members has typed up. The material has never been published before. We have divided it into nine separate sections, but the text itself is exactly as Horace wrote it, complete and unchanged.
