NEW OCTOBER 2017. This is an article from the Railway Magazine of October 1922 by J F Gairns, entitled 'The Hackney Downs Group of Lines, Great Eastern Railway''. It marked 50 years since these lines came into use, summarises their history, then describes the routes and the train services as they were at that date. It is accompanied by nine photographs, all specially taken by Mr Gairns himself. They show Hackney Downs Junction, Bethnal Green, Seven Sisters, Lower Edmonton (High Level), Enfield Town, Chingford and Copper Mill Junction. There is also a map showing the complete suburban network of the GER.
