NEW DECEMBER 2020. The information in this file is the outcome of the discovery of copies of the Railway Diary and Officials' Directory for 1913 and 1919. Written in them were records of daily arrivals and departures of GER ships in and out of Harwich Parkeston Quay (usually from or to the Hook, Rotterdam or Antwerp), clearly compiled by a member of staff there. These included passenger ships such as the SS Vienna, freight vessels such as the SS Clacton and smaller craft like the River Boat Suffolk. Their stoppages for repairs were also listed.
Our member David Embling has transcribed all these written details to constitute this 40-page file. It will be available to download as soon as payment has been made. You go to your account and click on ‘Downloads’. New customers create an account as they place their order.
