SG056 Enfield Town signalling instructions 1909
NEW AUGUST 2016. Instruction No. 606 issued by the GER on 16 August 1909 entitled 'Enfield Town Station - Special Working'. Its purpose was to lay down local rules and regulations for that site. The headings are Up Advanced Starting Signal; Electric Rail Contact in Up Main Line; Special precautions to be taken in foggy weather; Electric Indicators for Front and Back Platform Lines, and Electric Slotting of Down Home Signals for those Lines; Small Ground Locking Frames at Station end of Platform Lines; and Shunting on Main Lines - Passenger Train Vehicles, and Goods Trains. There is no layout diagram included.
The document comprises a single sheet. Our signalling specialist, Chris Cock, had only a very poor copy of the original but wished to preserve the information it contained and make it available. He has therefore put in a tremendous amount of work to transcribe all its text, and what you will receive is a copy of that transcription laid out in the style of the original.
