RH046 The M&GN and its Locomotives - Part 1
NEW OCTOBER 2017. In 1921 and 1922 the Locomotive Magazine featured a major series entitled 'The Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway, and its Locomotives'. We offer the complete series in two parts, of which this is the first.
The article begins with eight pages describing the line and its origins. There are two maps of the system - one of the western section and one of the eastern. There is also a diagrammatic map showing the single line and tablet sections, and photographs of various locations. The writer, a certain P.C.D., then turns his attention to the locomotives. He starts with the early days. There are several photographic illustrations, but no line drawings as appeared in the series on the locomotives of the GER.
